AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. Following her graduation in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley, where she played for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. There, she made her professional debut and played in the team's win of the league title. Morgan 22, then 22 years aged, was the smallest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which she finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final match against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan helped to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected for the Dream Team in both tournaments. In the year 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
