Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - an Canadian and American singer/songwriter. She has released over 20 albums of studio work. Her music is categorized as alternative rock, folk rock, but it also has hints of jazz and hip-hop. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy recipient Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement, and was among the first musicians to launch her own record label in the year 1990. DiFranco has two daughters: Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met at their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
